Breweries
Dubuisson
The oldest brewery in Wallonia (founded 1769) has made its name with its strong Bush beers. Bush Ambrée was created in 1933. For a long time this was the only beer produced by this brewery. The family has now been extended with the Bush Blonde, Bush Triple, Bush de Noël and the Pêche Mel Bush, a blend of Bush Ambrée and peach juice. In 2000 the brewery launched the ligher blonde, Cuvée des Trolls, which has since been made available as a tripel as well. More recent introductions are the gastronomic beers Bush Prestige, Bush de Nuits and Bush de Charmes. The Bush Prestige is a Bush Ambrée matured in oak barrels, the Bush de Nuits is a Bush de Noël ripened in barrels previously used for red Burgundy whereas the Bush de Charmes is a Bush Blonde matured in white Burgundy barrels used for the famous Meursault wine. These complex, wood-matured beers stradle the divide between beer and wine. The latest addition to the family is the Surfine, Dubuisson’s interpretation of a classic saison from the Hainaut region that has been triple-fermented.
