Van Honsebrouck
The Van Honsebrouck brewery, based in Ingelmunster but preparing to move to its new site in Izegem in 2016, is a permanent feature in the Belgian beer landscape. Its Kasteel range includes a blond, a bruin and a tripel. Kasteel Rouge is a blend of Kasteel Donker (a dark beer) and cherry liqueur. Kasteel Hoppy, recently made available in a bottle-fermented version, is a more strongly hopped beer. A new addition is the Barista Chocolate Quad with its aromas of coffee and cocoa, inspired by the now discontinued Kasteel Winter. The Cuvée du Chateau has all the hallmarks of a Kasteel Donker that has matured for years. Trignac, a limited edition beer, represents the successful marriage between a tripel and a cognac. It is based on a Kasteel Tripel that has matured in barrels previously used for cognac. The brewery also produces a range of geuze and fruit beers under the St-Louis brand name. Recent additions to his range include the traditional Fond Tradition in geuze and kriek versions. Another recent introduction is the strong blond, Filou, a cheeky thirst-quencher that fits neatly with the traditional Brigand tripel, Bacchus oudbruin and the Bacchus fruit beers.
